Hi! Its me!

My writing background:

I was born and raised in Sweden and was drawn to storytelling at an early age. I began reading and writing in English in my teens, the foundation of which had been put down through my love of film and television. In Sweden, a lot of what’s on offer on TV is either American or British and so I’d been listening to spoken English from childhood.

After moving to London in 2015 I spent nearly six years falling in love with the city, but due to various circumstances I opted to move back to Sweden at the end of 2020.

In my early twenties I realized I could combine my love of writing with my love of film and began to study screenwriting. While living in London I had the good fortune to work as a professional reader for several established production companies such as Mammoth Screen, 42 Management and Production, and Ecosse Films.

I delivered coverage for five years, predominantly on novels though I also read plenty of pilot scripts, series bibles, treatments, plays, and even a few comics. My job as a reader was to break down each narrative component in order to evaluate the novel’s fitness for production.

Through continuously breaking down these components, searching for strengths and weaknesses within the narrative structure, I honed my understanding of what effective storytelling looks like. I also practiced concise and in-depth feedback, learning the value of it, so that I could be ready and set to offer it to you, dear writer.

Before London I spent a year living in Stockholm, where a three year writers room collaboration unfortunately ended. It began while I was at university with three other screenwriters and the production company Harmonica Films.

Things I care deeply about:

Fair and accurate representation

I will never take on work that supports or seeks to promote racist, fascist or prejudiced views.

Let’s make the world better.

Queer voices

As part of the queer community I love supporting and elevating all queer writers. This is 100% a safe space.

Not elevating misogyny

I will not be able to edit or coach a novel where any toxic behavior is considered romantic or meant to be depicted as desirable. There is nothing hot about abuse. Clear tension, frustration with the other, arguing/bickering/banter, misunderstandings—all human. Abuse is on a whole other level and I’m of the firm opinion that it shouldn’t be explored without Carl Jung firmly riding in the side-wagon.

Meaning, if there is an element of self-reflection, and the toxicity is a starting point from which a character grows into self-understanding and self-betterment, then bring it on.

World politics

I care very deeply about the state of the world. I also think that storytelling is a form of healing. It offers the chance for self-expression for the writer and self-reflection for the reader. Good juju all around.

AI Policy

I have a no tolerance policy of any usage of AI anywhere in the writing process.

Writing is a slog of decision making, of trial and error, of learning and relearning. Handing that slog over to a machine for the sake of ease takes away everything that makes a finished novel worthwhile. The stories you write are meant to be a reflection of you. In my opinion, that’s how you ensure that your words connect with your readers. Your narrative has to be saturated with an honest take on what it means to be human and AI will never be able to add to that in a meaningful way. It’s up to us as writers to figure out what we think of ourselves and of our place in this vast universe of ours, and how to communicate that point of view in a way that will make others recognize themselves in our thought process.

Music and movement

I love to dance it out and music can elevate my mood in an instant.
