Sample Edit with Consultation
When you request a sample edit I will ask you to send me the first 2000 words of your novel. Here is my chance to show you what to expect from me as your editor.
The sample edit will be a developmental+line edit and will contain in-depth feedback in the form of comments, plus revisions for any needed clarity.
We will schedule a 30 minute consultation where we talk through my notes and you get the chance to ask any questions you might have.
If the sample edit has piqued your interest and you wish to hire me as your editor, we will also discuss next steps during this initial chat.

Editorial Assessment
If you’ve finished your draft and either are looking to hire an editor, go into self-edits or perhaps even feel ready to begin querying agents, I will highly recommend getting an editorial assessment done (also known as an editorial review or professional critique).
I will read through your novel, make extensive notes on every structural element - character, plot, setting, dialogue, stakes, pacing, tone etc. - and give you constructive feedback on the entirety of your narrative.
If there are any hidden plot holes or inconsistencies, any need for further research or character related clarifications, I will find them and outline them for you. I will also offer possible fixes and discuss them with you in-depth.
Novel or Idea Outline
Your outline can tell you what’s working and what needs tweaking even before you start writing. This service is tailored toward teaching you what questions to ask yourself while plotting your novel and will look at how you’ve approached the character, plot and world to build your narrative.
Together we’ll work to deepen your understanding of how to create a strong outline from the onset, and strengthen your outline in the process.
Service includes a read-through of a 10-15 page outline (please keep it within this page count) and a one-hour Zoom chat.
How deep we dig into your outline depends on what stage it’s at and where you’re at in your writing journey aka how much you know about structure/character/world and how strong your plotting is. You can add hours of consultation onto this fee as needed.
Developmental Edit
The developmental edit is a deep-dive into your narrative where we work together, chapter by chapter, to tackle the minutia of what works and how to tweak, strengthen and revise what doesn’t.
The developmental is all about clarity. If there are any parts of your narrative you feel uncertain of or if you keep having a feeling in the middle of your chest that there’s something you’re missing, then the developmental is for you.
Our approach to the developmental edit is based in the editorial assessment and entirely rests on your intention with your story.
You will always have final say on any changes made, but once I’ve done the assessment I may suggest that you only need a line edit. It depends entirely on the state of your text.
Line Edit
A line edit looks at sentence structure and syntax, ensuring that there is clarity in how the story is presented through use of language.
It also looks at style and voice, as keeping as close to your voice as possible is important while also ensuring your voice is presented as strongly as it can be.
The line edit is aces when packaged together with the developmental edit. In this package, you get me as your editor knowing what intention you have with your narrative and how you want it to be perceived by your reader.
This is invaluable for the line edit as it’s all about clarification.
Coaching
This service teaches you how to look at every aspect of your story on a deeper level so that you know how to build a strong foundation for your narrative.
Writing is absolutely editing but the stronger the writing the less editing is needed.
My coaching service is meant to push you to build your editing muscle so that you can become an expert at analyzing your own writing.
It’s through understanding our own strengths and weaknesses as writers and opening up to what needs work that we evolve our storytelling and take it to the next level.

Payment.
Dividing payment into installments is not a problem. All fees include VAT.
